D2L / Brightspace Integration

This guide shows you how to add a Criterial LTI tool to your Brightspace course.

Prerequisites

• Instructor or Administrator access to the course
• An app created in Criterial (you need the Launch URL)

Step 1: Access External Learning Tools

1. Enter your course in Brightspace
2. Go to Course Admin
3. Find and click External Learning Tools

Step 2: Create a new LTI Link

1. Click New Link
2. Fill in the fields:

Field	Value
Title	Your activity name (e.g. "Biology Quiz")
URL	Your Criterial Launch URL: https://lti.criterial.cc/lti/launch/YOUR-APP-ID
Visibility	Allow users to view this link
Security Settings	Send system username, Send user email

3. Click Save

Step 3: Add to course content

1. Go to the module where you want the activity
2. Click Add Existing Activities → External Learning Tools
3. Select the tool you created
4. Students will now see the activity in their module

Step 4: Verify

1. Click the tool as Preview
2. You should see your app with the "Powered by Criterial" badge
3. Complete the test activity to verify grades are reported

Advanced Configuration (LTI 1.3)

For LTI 1.3 (recommended for production):

1. Go to Manage Extensibility → LTI Advantage → Register Tool
2. Use these values:

Tool Domain	lti.criterial.cc
Redirect URLs	https://lti.criterial.cc/lti/launch13
Login URL	https://lti.criterial.cc/lti/login
Keyset URL	https://lti.criterial.cc/api/auth/jwks

3. Enable: Deep Linking, Assignment and Grade Services
4. Copy the Client ID and Deployment ID and send to your Criterial admin

Troubleshooting

• "Application not found": Verify the URL is correct and the app is active
• "Esta aplicación ya no está disponible": The teacher disabled the activity
• Grades not appearing: Verify "Assignment and Grade Services" is enabled
